Must-Have Fall Prints: Floral
Fall Prints: Floral by theclosetbychristie featuring an alexander mcqueen jacket
Happy Friday to all my fellow worker bees! The final Fall 2013 print I’m going to talk about this week is… floral! You may be wondering ‘uh, do you have the wrong season?’ Florals are known for dominating the Spring season, but this year they’re sticking around for the Fall, too! To style floral prints for the Fall and Winter seasons, the color palette is key. Instead of pretty pastels and brights, you’ll want to choose deeper hues. Colors such as black, olive, deep reds, greys, and blues are ideal. Abstract florals and photorealism are two additional directions to take this trend in for this season.
In the above set, I featured a Mango floral print blouse. This top is perfect for the Fall/Winter season because of the black background. I really love the pops of red and blue flowers because it adds some color to it without making it a Spring floral. I paired the top with a red Alexander McQueen structured blazer and a black Dickins & Jones floral rose leather skirt. I especially love the skirt because of the leather and rose detailing contrast. I accessorized with a red L.K. Bennett leather envelope clutch and black Jerome Rousseau pointed-toe ankle boots. For jewelry, I chose red Ralph Lauren stone cluster drop earrings and a red braided bracelet.
Do you love floral print for Fall? How would you style it?
