Maximize Your Wardrobe With One Blanket Scarf, Four Ways

Today’s post combines a few of our recent lessons, so you may want to brush up! Check out What Is A Blanket Scarf & How To Wear It and How To Wear Leggings Appropriately to be 100% up to date.
Who wants to be fashionable and comfortable? I’m confident in saying that we would all love for comfort and style to go hand in hand. It’s absolutely achievable and all you need are two things: leggings and a blanket scarf. You might think this style is a one trick pony but let’s take a step back for a moment and look at these pieces from a different perspective. Wipe your mental slate clean!
By simply draping or wrapping the blanket scarf in a different way, you can create a completely different look. Take this look for example. I’m wearing the exact same oversized sweater, leggings, boots, and even jewelry! The blanket scarf is literally the only difference between these four looks, yet they all look pretty different.
We’re not doing magic tricks here! It’s called maximizing your closet by taking something you already have and wearing it differently each time so it appears new. Ready to maximize your closet? Let me show you how it’s done!

 DRAPED

This is the classic way to wear a blanket scarf; simply draped over your shoulders. The draping gives it a nice boho-vibe and it’s simple and easy! There isn’t much to it but it’s definitely my favorite way to wear my blanket scarf. You can just throw it on and run!

Wrapping your blanket scarf is ideal on a chilly day! It was breezy and chilly today, so I just took the bottom corner of the scarf and threw it over the opposite shoulder. It really made a difference in keeping me warm! Plus, I think this wrapped version looks pulled together and polished. This style would be great for the office!

 BELTED

Is there anything I won’t belt? The answer is no! A few of you have pointed out that I belt things often and that is completely the truth. I have quite a collection of belts and it’s one of my favorite accessories because it can really transform a look. It can completely change the look of a top- or in this case, blanket scarf- and it’s the perfect tool for creating a waist, which is very flattering for any body type. I love how this belt gives my scarf a kimono silhouette!
This White House Black Market belt is my current favorite because it’s a classic, thick black belt. It simply goes with anything!

 PINNED

Brooches are the perfect way to add a vintage touch to a look and it’s another great way to transform your blanket scarf! I simply grabbed the bottom corner of my scarf and pinned it to itself near my shoulder, but there’s about a million different ways to rock this style. The brooch I’m wearing is a flower with a zipper design, so it adds a feminine accent with an edge. I love the fact that it’s black like my scarf because I think black on black is so chic!

I have a major love for blanket scarves, but most of the time, I go with option 1. I just find it's so easy and cute to throw on, but belting it sounds like a great idea too!
