Your real life closet should contain two things; staples and trends. While trends are fun, the staples will be the real core of your wardrobe. Trends are ever-changing, while staples are the classic pieces that are the anchors in your closet. Vests are one of my favorite work-wear staples! They’re versatile, come in many different shapes and sizes, and add an extra bit of style to any look.

In the above set, I featured a brown-tone Ralph Lauren riding vest. This vest is fabulous and perfect for the workplace because it has the shape of a blazer. It also has a sophistication to it since it’s equestrian-inspired. I paired this vest with a navy Chloe silk skater skirt and an ivory Ralph Lauren ruffle top. I accessorized with tan Chloe leather oxford shoes and a brown Chloe leather tote. For jewelry, I chose an emerald accent with a Banana Republic tile stretch bracelet and Banana Republic drop earrings. I love this look because the styles contradict one another. The vest and shoes have an androgynous look, while the A-line skirt and ruffled top are very feminine.
