The media is a huge part of our lives. It can influence our opinions, likes and dislikes, and overall outlook on life. So it’s no wonder that the media affects our fashion, too! A television series is a particularly large influence. We invest so much time in these characters and story lines- if you think about it, you watch your favorite television series on a weekly basis, and in some cases, for years. It’s easy for these characters to become apart of us; similar to friends and family, who happen to have the largest influence on your life. 

A recent television series that I have been into is Revenge, the ABC drama about a young woman (Emily Thorne, formerly Amanda Clarke) seeking revenge on the rich and powerful people that betrayed her late father. The costume designers of this show are particularly talented; the fashion is amazing and each character is flawlessly styled to his/her personality. The main symbol of this show is double infinity, a special bond between Emily and her father. Now, as we await the third season premiere coming this Fall, I’m seeing the infinity jewelry trend pop up everywhere! It’s obvious to me that this was inspired by the television show. 

In the above set, I featured a gold Tiffany infinity necklace. The rest of the look is inspired by Emily’s style; sophisticated and chic, yet simple. I paired a white peplum blouse with a navy horizontal striped pencil skirt and a navy blazer. I accessorized with white Coast sandals and a navy Lanvin clutch. For jewelry, I chose a white and gold Kate Spade hinged bangle and gold Macy’s pyramid stud earrings– in addition to the infinity necklace.
