Vintage Americana is exactly as it sounds- a retro style inspired by American history. It’s a really cool style because it gives us the chance to celebrate our country and its style roots. So you may wonder, how can I spot Vintage Americana? Key qualities these pieces will have are patriotism and nostalgia (according to Wikipedia). You’ll often see muted or faded reds, whites, and blues or distressed fabric to give it that vintage look. You’ll also see typical American symbols such as an American flag, star or stripe prints, or eagles. Other examples include popular styles or brands in American history, such as denim fabric, old logos (i.e. Coca-Cola), or a bandana headband. 

In the above set, I featured a Vintage Americana washed denim vest. This is the perfect Vintage Americana style piece because it depicts several American qualities; distressed denim and the American flag. I paired the vest with a red and cream Marni printed top and a vanilla cream French Connection crepe skirt. The addition of the skirt adds a very feminine, dressed-up flair to the look. This definitely switches up the style a bit and makes it an appropriate work-wear outfit. I accessorized with a red tote bag and nude Rupert Sanderson patent leather peep-toe sandals. For jewelry, I chose cobalt Marc by Marc Jacobs framed stud earrings and nude Valentino studded leather bracelet.
