Unique Finds: JORD Wood Watches
Earlier this week, I wrote about how I love my style to be different (see previous post: Unique Style Inspired by Your Favorite TV Shows and Unique Statement Pieces: Steal the Show with a Bow). With so many chain shops and trends out there, it can be tough to stand out from the crowd! When I find a unique concept, I like to jump on it- fast! So, when JORD reached out inquiring about a collaboration I didn’t even need to think before I said ‘yes!’
JORD designs quality wooden watches for men and women in a variety of styles. There are so many amazing designer watches out there, and even tech watches with the launch of the Apple Watch, but I have never seen a wooden watch! I just love the concept of using the materials around us in our everyday lives to inspire fashion. I’m not exactly an outdoors-y type of gal, but I don’t think anyone can deny there’s a real beauty in nature that we tend to overlook. Working in Princeton has definitely opened my eyes to that and I love that JORD embraces it to stand out!
My first thought was- is that going to be comfortable? After wearing it for several days straight now, I can report to you that yes- it is surprisingly comfortable and light. But a lot of companies can produce nice quality products. What really impresses me about a company is their service! That’s always what keeps me coming back as a consumer. I like to feel valued and JORD certainly delivered in that area and not just because I had a direct contact with the company as a blogger.
When I went to their site to check out the product, an instant message popped up with a friendly customer service agent that offered assistance if I needed it. That’s one thing I miss about in-store shopping versus online shopping! You all know I pretty much only shop online these days, but sometimes it’s nice to have someone helping you out or being there if you have questions. While online shopping has it’s advantages, you miss out on that human contact! I think it’s revolutionary that they- along with a select group of other retailers- have incorporated this into their website.
Another thing that really stood out to me about JORD is that they offer custom sizing to all of their customers. You print out a little tape measure, enter your size, and it arrives on your doorstep ready to fit like glove! I love custom sizing! And as someone that has a small wrist, anything that doesn’t fit just right can be so annoying.
