How To Transform Your Cocktail Dress To Office Wear
I’m always talking about maximizing your wardrobe! But seriously, as a fashionista-turned-shopaholic, it is essential to wear these pieces creatively. Who can afford to allow their clothing to collect dust at the back of your closet? That’s pretty much exactly what was happening to some of my best dresses. It’s not everyday that I go to a fancy affair, while it is everyday that I go to work!
So, how can we maximize our wardrobes by transforming these cocktail dresses to office wear?
Ready to transform your favorite cocktail dress to office wear? Here’s how!
1- Add Layers
Layers can make a world of difference! Try adding a collared oxford or turtleneck- depending on the weather- under or over your cocktail dress.
2- Incorporate Classic Office Silhouettes
Blazers, oxfords, pencil skirts. By adding classic office pieces or silhouettes, you’re saying ‘yes, this is office wear!’ To put it simply, it makes it blatant. This dress was an easy transformation because the bottom part has the silhouette of a pencil midi skirt.
3- Keep It Simple
That’s right, less is more! Don’t feel like you need to get carried away with disguising the cocktail dress. By adding a few simple pieces, your look will transform itself.
Here’s the look without the blazer, so you can see the complete silhouette. Even without the blazer, this look would work in an office where sleeves aren’t a must!

Oh I just love all these tips, and it makes me jealous that I don't work in an office. My work attire consists of scrubs, and there's not too much to work with there. Still, I'm going to tuck these tips into my pocket, because you never know what the future holds! Thanks so much for sharing!
