3 Ways To Create Art Through Everyday Fashion
Who believes that fashion and art go hand-in-hand? I’m an artsy kind of person and I believe this 100%! Fashion is a form of nonverbal communication and we can use it to communicate who we are to the world. Art can also be used for self-expression, so why can’t fashion be art? Avant garde fashion is the closest thing to bridge that gap, however, it doesn’t have to be that way! There are plenty of every day pieces that serve as art.
Why is it that avant garde in particular is considered art? Well, just about anything that makes a statement causes intrigue and
that’s exactly what the best kind of art does. Take the Mona Lisa for example. It’s such an
iconic work of art, not because the portrait was simply beautiful, but
because of her expression. It looked like she was hiding something
behind that smile and this causes conversation and imagination.

All of this being said, you can create art through your own everyday fashion. Here’s how!
3 Ways To Create Art Through Everyday Fashion
1- Statement Necklaces
Statement necklaces- or any statement accessories, for that matter- are definitely the #1 way to achieve an artistic look through fashion. There are so many intriguing pieces of jewelry on the market right now, whether it be an enormous necklace or a dazzling ear cuff.
2- Abstract or Photographic Prints
Just like art can be abstract, fashion prints can be as well! These types of prints can be anything from a swirl of colors to a realistic landscape.
3- Color Palettes
Minimalism, monochromatic, watercolor, and ombré- all of these terms involving color are borrowed from art and are often applied to fashion. These are fun terms to be familiar with when styling a look because you create these effects through pairing different pieces.
I received this gorgeous statement necklace from the Happiness Boutique,
which is an affordable online jewelry boutique based in Germany. I
absolutely love it! They have quite a variety of pieces, but I’ve never
seen so many unique statement pieces in one shop. Although a
statement piece for sure, this necklace is so versatile! I styled it
casually here, but I’ve also worn it to the office. The gold and ivory
tones give it such a luxe look, so it really works well for both the
office and more formal functions like a wedding.
