Want to win the ‘Best Dressed’ award at your office this fall? A lot of the trends you’ll see this season will also translate well to the office, however, there are some trends and essentials that are particularly fabulous as office-wear. Today we’re covering everything you’ll need, from shirt-dresses to contrast oxford blouses and even fabulously bright straight legged pants.
Here’s Everything You Need To Be Top Fashionista At Your Office This Fall!
  DRESSES

One of my favorite categories; dresses! I wear dresses a lot around the office. I just find them more comfortable, I feel fabulous and feminine, and they’re easier to style. Let’s be real; it’s less work putting together a look with a dress! Dress trends that would work well in an office setting include: shirt dresses, striped prints, large artsy florals, ruffles, slim-fitting midi dresses, and shift dresses.

Another piece I found interesting that I haven’t seen anywhere else is #2- Banana Republic non-iron tiered shirt dress. I’m really into BR’s non-iron tops! It really takes a lot to get these tops wrinkled. This piece combines a few current trends- shirt dress, tiered, dropped waist- and although I think it’s a cool look, I’m not sure it would flatter me. I would have to try it on in-store! I could see a few of you wearing it!

3- Anthropologie Tylho Printed Shirt Dress // 4- Mossimo Striped Fitted Midi Dress, Target
5- Lulus Black Long-Sleeve Shirt Dress // 6- Anthropologie Shoshanna Ostara Dress
7- Anthropologie Corey Lynn Calter Tallulah Dress

 TOPS

Next up, tops and blouses! One of my favorite trends that’s back is the peplum top. I’ve noticed a few of the higher-end designers and retailers- Phillip Lim, J.Crew, Milly- have released some really pretty, high quality wool and jacquard peplum tops. By using these materials, it really makes it into an office-ready style! Most of these are either super expensive or sold out, so I’ve linked to an alternative by Guess. Some other top trends I’ve observed are: piping, contrast, high-low hem, layering or tiering, dolman sleeves, and boxy silhouettes.

Now, onto bottoms! Want to know the office must-haves when it comes to pants and skirts? We’ve got it all here! There are some really fun trends in this category. I’ve been seeing a lot of the following: slim ankle and bright colored pants, fun prints, faux leather-trim skirts, and full skirts.

  BLAZERS

Blazers are one of my favorite office-wear pieces! A blazer instantly adds ‘professionalism’ to an office look and a chic vibe to a casual look. So, what’s new with the blazer trends? This fall, you can expect to see the following: double breasted blazers, fun & bold prints, and collarless & sleeveless blazers.

Who else saw ‘The Unauthorized Full House Story‘ movie on Lifetime over the weekend? As someone who grew up watching Full House and the Olsen twins, I was really looking forward to the movie. I just love behind the scenes anything for all of my favorite shows and movies! It’s so much fun to see all that goes into creating them. Sometimes there’s more drama behind the scenes than what’s filmed!
In the ‘Beyond The Headlines: Full House’ special following the movie, the producers of the show talked about television trends and why the popular show was ultimately canceled. It premiered during a time where ‘family values’ shows were the big focus. I never really thought about it but I did watch a lot of shows focused on family dynamics and life lessons; Family Matters, Boy Meets World, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Saved By The Bell- just to name a few. After its eighth season, Full House was suddenly canceled because TV was going in a new direction and viewers wanted to see more about sex and scandal. This is when shows like Melrose Place and Beverly Hills, 90210 came onto the scene! Speaking of, these are the next installments for Lifetime’s unauthorized story films.
Fascinating! What do you guys think about it?

Which trends are on your office-wear must-have list this season?
