LC Lauren Conrad Runway Collection NYFW Recap
We’re in the very beginning of New York Fashion Week and for the first time ever, Lauren Conrad showcased an exclusive runway collection with her LC Lauren Conrad line at Kohl’s. I’ve been a big supporter of Lauren from the early days and have always loved her Kohl’s line. I love that she makes chic, stylish clothing that’s attainable for everyone!
Although I didn’t have the pleasure to attend the LC Lauren Conrad runway show, I was able to watch it online through their live streaming! A lot of designers are implementing live streaming into their shows, but I think it’s especially fitting for the LC Lauren Conrad line. As I said before- the main purpose of her line is to create beautiful clothing that is attainable for the average woman, so why wouldn’t the runway show be open to everyone? It just makes sense! And in this case, it was almost more beneficial to watch the show from home because Kohl’s made her runway collection available for purchase immediately following the show.
So, here’s my recap!

One of my favorite things about the LC Lauren Conrad line- aside from the affordability- is her ability to stay true to her own style while implementing the trends. The success of a true designer, in my opinion, is when you can name that label without seeing a tag or logo. I can spot an LC Lauren Conrad piece from a mile away and just know it’s from her line!
So, what did we see?
1- FEMININE DETAILING
Very true to the LC Lauren Conrad style, there was a ton of feminine detailing. From pretty florals to intricate lace and of course- my favorite- bows! This runway line had it all and that’s exactly what we’ve come to expect from the LC Lauren Conrad brand. These details are exactly what have me falling more and more in love with this line every day!
2- TEXTURES & FABRICS

The collection did a beautiful job with textures and mixing unexpected fabrics. Many of these had luxe influences like suede, velvet, organza, satin, and sequins. A combination I was pleasantly surprised with was the dress in the center of this collage. The bodice is velvet, while the remainder of the dress is made of beautiful tulle.
3- LENGTHS & PROPORTIONS

It was fabulous to see Lauren play with different lengths and proportions! One of my favorite silhouettes at the moment is a longline jacket paired with a shorter dress or skirt. It’s such a fun way to be playful, yet still conservative and it can really lengthen your legs (which I could really use!). Within this collection we saw a lot of longline silhouettes, in addition to crop tops. My favorite is the first look in this collage- the long sleeve scallop lace crop top and high-waist wide-leg pants.
4- ONE-PIECE VERSUS TWO-PIECES

Are you a one-piece girl or a two-piece? Whether it’s a romper, jumpsuit, or matching two-piece you prefer, this line had all of the above! My favorite are the two-pieces because you can mix and match them for more versatility. But I have to say, these jumpsuits would look pretty fabulous with a blazer!

Overall, it was exactly what LC Lauren Conrad is- whimsical, romantic, and feminine- but even more chic if that’s possible. It was an incredibly cohesive collection, so there’s a ton of opportunity for mixing and matching many pieces. We saw all of the things that made us fall in love with the LC Lauren Conrad brand- soft hues, romantic florals, feminine lace, cute bows- and plenty of trends.
My overall rating was a big thumbs up! What did you all think of the collection?

Are you evolving with the times?
Lo Bosworth brought us along with her as she got ready and hung out backstage before the show with the Periscope app. I love how companies are implementing this cool new app into their social media endeavors! What makes this app unique? Well, it’s live streaming so it gives you the opportunity to ask questions and interact!
I really think it’s going to be the next big thing. If you’re not on it, join now and don’t forget to follow me because I just may be adding it to The Closet by Christie’s social agenda soon! To find me, simply search ‘Christie Geiger’ or ‘@theclosetbycee.’ Not sure how to begin? Here’s a pretty good guide: The Beginner’s Guide to Periscope.
