This weekend I attended a
Laura Geller event at my local
Ulta Beauty store. It was such a blast! It was an informal event, where Laura Geller representatives were in-store doing make-up demos. I saw it advertised weeks ago, so me and my friend signed up and booked appointments to get our make-up done. What a treat!
Lately my current make-up has been bothering my eyes and not blending properly, so I was definitely in the market for a new product. But it’s so hard to choose beauty products when I’m just strolling through the store! So many of you give such great tutorials and reviews but it’s still tough to choose the products that are right for me. It can be overwhelming. This event was the perfect solution and it came at just the right time!
I’ve always been more into fashion than beauty, which sounds odd because you would think the two would go hand-in-hand. While I know so much about fashion, my make-up skills are at a pretty basic beginner level. In an attempt to get a little fancier, I’ve been studying YouTube videos and practicing with different products to gain a little more insight into beauty. You can learn so much through watching but nothing compares to a thorough one-on-one guide!
Renee did my make-up and gave me a fabulous walk-through as she did it, so I really learned a lot. Have you heard of baked make-up? Laura Geller is known for her Baked line! The make-up is literally baked like a cake and that makes the powders really creamy and highly pigmented for lasting color. All of the products are truly weightless and they blend easily. I don’t feel like I’m wearing make-up at all.
Want to know a little trick to get more out of the products? You can add water to the eye shadow so you can use it as an eye liner! When the water dries, it goes back to how it was originally. I was astounded by this!
BAKED BLUSH-N-BRIGHTEN & COLOR DRENCHED LIP GLOSS
This blush and lip gloss were actually a sample gift that was given for spending a certain amount of money on Laura Geller products at the event. The blush is formulated with antioxidants and anti-aging properties, plus it gave my skin the perfect hint of color. With this harsh winter, my lips have been so dry lately! This lip gloss is highly pigmented for a beautiful color that lasts. Even though my lips have been dry, this gloss kept them moisturized so they didn’t crack. I’m actually amazed that the color lasted all day!

SPACKLE TREATMENT MAKE-UP PRIMER
This primer is an amazing cross between a primer and a moisturizer! It has a slightly green hue, so it reduces redness without making you look like a martian. It blends nicely and it kept my make-up in place all day.
BAKED LIQUID RADIANCE FOUNDATION
This foundation was the little bottle of magic I’ve been looking for! My skin tone just isn’t ‘typical’ so I have a hard time finding foundation that really blends and matches my skin. It’s either too light and washes me out or it’s too dark. I can never get it just right! This foundation has color correcting pigments, so it actually blends to match your unique skin color.
THE REAL DEAL CONCEALER
I love concealer! It’s an amazing make-up essential and I really like this one. Some concealers seem to disappear as I blend them, but this one doesn’t. It’s creamy and thick, so a tiny drop goes a long way! It also has the color correcting feature, so it’s really easy to blend.
BALANCE-N-BRIGHTEN BAKED COLOR CORRECTING FOUNDATION
This is a great all-over powder that made my skin look radiant! It gives you that extra little something that leaves your skin glowing.
FILTER FINISH SETTING POWDER
This is a brand new product and the rep actually referred to it as ‘selfie powder.’ It’s the perfect way to set your foundation! All of these colors look a little crazy, but that’s how the magic happens. I brushed a tiny bit on when I was done with my make-up and it blurs flaws, corrects color, and illuminates your face. It’s ‘pretty powder!’
Here’s the final look! They also used eye shadow, brow powder, a light lip color, and mascara but I just bought the face products for now because that’s what I really needed. We went for a natural day-time look.
Have you tried baked make-up?

Your makeup looks so natural and beautiful! I'm the same way when it comes to make-up, there is so much and I'm such a novice that I often don't know what I want and need. The best thing I ever did was have one of the ladies at the MAC counter do my makeup because that really helped me learn a lot about using their products and helped me decide which I really didn't need.
