3 Ways To Wear One Pair of Culottes: Inspiration Board
When culottes recently emerged as an up-and-coming trend, it was one of those that I said ‘looks great on her but not for me.’ But the more I see them, the more I’m starting to think maybe they ARE for me! I’m really growing to love this trend and in fact, I just got a pair of black culottes from Express. They’re too long- go figure- so I have to get them altered before I can rock them.
In the meanwhile, let’s explore the many ways this trend can be worn. Here’s my culotte inspiration board!

LOOK ONE
Created by theclosetbychristie on Polyvore
Look One has a lovely neutral color palette with some really luxurious detailing. The lace hem on the crop top gives it a modern appeal while still being appropriate for the twenty-something. The detailing of the clutch and the beaded fringe earrings gives it a slightly vintage vibe, which I love!
1- Dorothy Perkins Cream Blazer // 2- Dareen Hakim Le Petit Icon Clutch // 3- Topshop Lace Trim Cami similar // 4- Zara Culottes // 5- Baublebar ‘Tinsel’ Tassel Earrings // 6- Sole Society Circle Layered Pendant Necklace // 7- Topshop ‘Rumba’ Block Heel Sandal

LOOK TWO

Look Two is pretty different than what I would typically style. It has a few details that remind me of a vintage menswear style, particularly the hat and crossbody. Does that not remind you of an oldschool detective hat and briefcase? While there is a slight menswear inspiration, this look also contains preppy and glam styles. I think it all pulls together nicely without having a ‘playing dress-up’ vibe!
1- J.Crew Regent Blazer // 2- Baublebar ‘Buzzed’ Earrings // 3- kate spade new york ‘addie’ block heel // 4- Topshop Relaxed Fit Pocket Tee // 5- Zara Culottes // 6- Baublebar ”Apfel’ Crystal Bib Necklace // 7- Forever 21 Textured Envelope Crossbody // 8- Rag & Bone Floppy Brim Wool Fedora

LOOK THREE

Look Three is a classic feminine style with a few pretty modern accents. The color palette of black, cream, gold, and blush makes it undeniably feminine, while some of the details- fringe bag, sleeveless blazer, and crystal block heel- give it that modern vibe we love.

Love any combination! 1st and the 2nd.
I actually own similar black culottes from years ago but I hadn't worn them in a few years and now that they are back in style, I only wore them once. Though all three outfits are super chic, the first one is my favorite look Christy. You kept each look so beautifully neutral though. All the blazers in each set and each pair of shoes is beautiful. =) Well done!
This week’s current, brand-new linkup is live (a day early). I would love for you to join it. Thank you. Ada. =)

I'm still a bit on the fence about culottes, but I am a fan of all these outfits! I love the one with the hat !
