The Embellished Art Deco & Geometric Trend + How I Wore It
Embellished pieces with bold and bright art deco and geometric prints is a big trend for this summer! And who wouldn’t want to wear bright, bold prints during the summer? It isn’t revolutionary but new isn’t always better. I personally love when art meets fashion and this trend is just plain fun! I’ve seen it on swim suits and shoes but for this look, I’m wearing an embellished tank. Since a tank top is pretty versatile, you can wear it just about anywhere; plus the sequins and beading make it that much easier to dress up!
So let’s get right into how I styled it!
For this look, I dressed up my embellished geometric tank in a more elegant way. Bright and bold pieces are typically reserved for more youthful looks, so I wanted to take my look in a slightly older direction. How did I do this?
1- SIMILAR ACCESSORIES
Keep your accessories along the same ‘theme’ as your tank. My top happens to be a geometric print, so I went with geometric-inspired jewelry. Neon or bright beaded jewelry would have worked, too!
2- ADD A ‘SHOCKER’
Then, throw in a shocker! In other words, pair the tank with a piece that you wouldn’t expect to see it with. For me, it was a delicate and feminine cream-colored pleated midi skirt.
BEHIND THE SCENES
I’m sure you noticed that this background is not New Jersey! Last week, I was on a work trip followed by a personal vacation in Miami. During this particular shoot, I had about an hour or two break from the conference so I took to my balcony for a few photos. The humidity is so high in Florida that I had to redo my hair about a million times per day! It held up for these photos but I guarantee it was flat and straight 30 minutes later. How do people live there? Florida ladies, please spill your secrets to perfect hair!

I absolutely love this look…so simple, elegant, chic and fun at the same time! I may need to recreate this look! Oh, and Florida hair is never perfect…anyone who tries to sell you on something different is living in fairy land. Unless it's not a billion degrees and humid.
