DETECTIVE

Remember, Inspector Gadget? This Halloween you can be your very own detective and all you need is a classic trench coat and a wide-brimmed or regular fedora. Add a magnifying glass if you’re feeling ambitious! Shop with me: Calvin Klein Trench Coat

MOBSTER

Even your work wear can become a costume! You can channel your inner ‘Soprano’ this Halloween by being a mobster. I actually used this idea as a last minute costume when I was in college and it was perfect. All you need is a pair of pin-striped trousers, a fedora, and a tie that you can snag from a significant other. Shop with me: Topshop Pinstripe Cigarette Trousers

BIKER

Halloween is a great time to try different styles or even be the complete opposite of your everyday self. Why not bring out your inner edgy-side by being a biker? Just throw on a leather moto vest, bandana headband, and some fun flash tattoos. Shop with me: Boohoo Leather Jacket

PARISIAN

This is probably the easiest costume of all! A parisian is such a cute costume and you can really do whatever you want with it. You can try it with a striped top but all you really need is a trendy outfit and this cute little beret. Shop with me: Halogen Wool Beret

FLAPPER

A flapper is one of my all-time favorite costumes because you can really do so much with it. In fact, last year I did an entire post dedicated to styling an awesome flapper costume. Sequins, feathers, and metallics make a timeless flapper costume. If you’re in a pinch, all you really need is a pleated skirt and these are in all of the stores right now. Shop with me: Topshop Pleated Midi Skirt

SCHOOL GIRL

Is anyone else getting a flashback to ‘Baby, One More Time?’ Whether you want to channel your inner Britney, Gossip Girl, or just be a regular student, then this is the costume for you. At a minimum, you really just need a plaid skirt. If you want to take it a bit further, try adding a blazer, knee high socks, and oxford shoes. Shop with me: J.Crew Factory Plaid Skirt

HIPPY

To be a hippy, all you really need is something fringe like a bag or vest and a few fun accessories like round sunglasses and a thin braided head-wrap. Shop with me: Target Fringe Crossbody

PALEONTOLOGIST

I sound like a real smarty pants with this one but trust me, I just watched a lot of ‘Friends’ as a kid. With the recent reemergence of the Jurassic Park series- Jurassic World- this would be an awesome costume! All you really need is this green (or nude) wide-brimmed fedora and a cargo vest or jacket. Shop with me: Banana Republic Andrea Felt Fedora
