How To Be A Successful Blogger Series: Meet Kimberly
Blogging is no easy feat so whether you are dreaming of blogging, a newbie blogger, or a pro blogger, you might still find yourself asking how to be a blogger or more specifically how to be a successful blogger. In the sea of bloggers, how can you achieve success? Trust me, being a blogger and being a successful blogger boss are two completely different things.
Throughout my life, I have always studied successful people to learn about their journey and how they got to where they are today. This new blog series How To Be A Successful Blogger will feature a new blogger each month. No matter the size of the blog or experience of the blogger, there is always something unique to learn from each and every person.
Today, let’s meet Kimberly!
Meet Kimberly of Kimberly Ann blog! I’ve been following and interacting with Kim’s blog for a while and one of the things she does really well is sharing varied content. Every Friday, Kim also hosts a Friday Favorites series but unlike my fashion-focused collections, Kim shares her favorites when it comes to just about anything. Whether it be a viral YouTube video, celebrity fashion, news in the headlines, or lifestyle products; if she loves it, it makes the list! Kim also writes great lists, like ‘Golden Globe Fashion Favorites‘ and ‘Baby Gift Guide.’ This is exactly the type of content that makes Buzzfeed popular, so maybe Kim’s onto something!
Where are you from and how has that affected your style?
I am from Upstate, NY and I feel that it affects my blogging content style in a way that portrays life in the way that I see it. Which means my blog will reflect living in the country and living a lifestyle with four seasons of fashion, recipes for the soul and life in the rural outskirts!
Tell me about your blog.
The story behind my blog came when I decided to be a stay at home mom and I needed a space to vent and share my own opinions about fashion, beauty and the life that I was now living. So once I had Lilly I decided to start my blog. It was a perfect outlet for me, my only challenge was finding the time to do it, with a newborn and all. I think my blog is unique and different because I feel my target audience can be anyone from 16 years old to 52 years old. I talk about beauty, fashion, and life happenings of a mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend, aspects that people of all ages can relate too! My blog is simply about what I have been loving in Fashion, Beauty, and what has been going on in my life. I also have Friday Favorites which is one of my favorite posts where I share what I have been loving each week. I also love to link up on these posts with other bloggers to share and meet new bloggers in the community. I feel that my blog is AWESOME because it offers variety, anything from the latest fun recipe I am trying to my favorite looks on the red carpet. I love how it can be interactive during Friday Favorites and as a community we can all share what we have been loving each week.
How did you come up with the name for your blog?
I have to say this was a task for me. I was researching names and googling ideas but in the end I decided to just use what I have and what I would be talking about, so I came up with Kimberly Ann: Fashion, Beauty, Life!
Blogging is huge right now! What about you and your blog is unique compared to other bloggers?
I think myself and my blog are unique compared to others because I feel that I am relatable. I believe that anyone who reads my blog can find something that they too enjoy or that they have gone through. It is a blog that people can get on and enjoy and interact with the content that people are talking about. I feel it’ s a fun way to escape someone’s world for just a bit.
Are you working on any exciting projects that we can expect to see up on the blog soon?
I really want to start collaborating more with other bloggers and Youtubers. I recently just spoke with a YouTuber that has sent me some planner materials, I am OBSESSED with planning and I am working on a post that will showcase her Etsy shop and my new hobby.
What Pinterest board do you pin to the most?
My style! I feel that I am always searching for new outfit ideas, especially now as a new mom.
What do you think is the most important thing to becoming a successful blogger.
Honestly, i feel that you should have content that you believe in. Content that is relatable and fun! The thing that I love most about other blogs is reading content that I sit back and say, “wow, I love that too”, or “I would love to try that”. Good content and relatability.
This or That:
Instagram or Twitter? Instagram
Snapchat or Instagram Story? Instagram Story
Chocolate or Vanilla? Chocolate
Sweet or Salty? Sweet
Sun or Snow? Snow
What can we learn from Kimberly’s story?
- Be yourself! If you’re being yourself, people will love that they can relate to you. That’s the very thing that will keep them coming back!
- Not all content has to be 100% original. Lists are awesome and we love seeing if our favorites make your list! While your opinions and writing are your own, the photos often aren’t. Don’t shy away from this type of content because it’s often the most shared!
Do you love Kimberly as much as I do? Show her some social love!

With the kick-off of this brand new series, I have a super special announcement to make. A lot of you already know that I’ve been over here dreaming and scheming! So, here it is… I’m working on a masterclass that’s all about blogging, From Blogger to Boss! Who said your blog didn’t come with a manual? This is it!
Based on so many statistics that I’ve read, content marketing is the new key to being successful in business. Readers, potential customers, and brands all want to see that you truly are an expert at your craft before they decide to hire you. In fact, 47% of buyers viewed 3-5 pieces of content before engaging with a sales rep (source: http://www.hubspot.com/marketing-statistics). But writing is hard. How can you come up with new ideas after years of blogging? How can you balance your blogger perfectionism with your real life? And even worse, what are the must-do’s before hitting that ‘publish’ button?
I’m a writer at heart and after blogging for 4 years & writing over 540 blog posts with original content, I’ve learned so much about the do’s and don’ts of content creation. During this masterclass, I’m going to let you in on all of my secrets. Learn more here: From Blogger to Boss.
This masterclass will start early 2017 but enrollment begins soon and seats are very limited. Be the first to find out updates and enrollment specials by signing up for my special From Blogger to Boss email list. As a thank you for signing up for this list, you’ll receive a FREE Editorial Calendar template and you’ll be the first to know about the official enrollment date to guarantee your spot in my first class.
[Editorial Calendar Template Comes In Keynote Version, Powerpoint Version Coming Soon]
